The Perinton Food Shelf is an emergency food relief organization that serves the New York communities of Fairport / Perinton (14450 zip code).
The Perinton Food Shelf was organized in late 1980 by the Perinton Lay
Clergy Council, a 
group
of lay representatives from twelve congregations in the Perinton area.
Operations began in 1981 out of the
The Perinton Food Shelf originally served the surrounding towns of
Pittsford,

Food Shelf Board was organized to oversee the operation in 1982. The
organization was incorporated in 1984 and is recognized as a 501 (c) (3)
charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
